Leonard Mauskopf was formerly a partner at his prior firm for over 29 years. Mr. Mauskopf, was also a former adjunct professor of accounting at Touro College. He authored a monthly column on various tax and accounting topics for a local publication. His strong business background stems from his position as a chief financial officer in private industry prior to joining the firm of Michael U. Samter PC as well as being an auditor for the firm Loeb and Troper, Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Mauskopf is a participant in the IRS Annual Filing Season Program (AFSP) and a member in good standing of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the National Association of Tax Professionals where he is able to share his views on tax matters throughout the country. Mr. Mauskopf has a vast amount of experience in navigating client’s through the IRS Overseas Voluntary Disclosure Program (OVDP) as well as the preparation of the FinCEN 114 (FBAR) forms. Over the years Mr. Mauskopf has developed relationships with other accountants, attorneys, financial planners and mortgage brokers giving him access to their particular fields of expertise.
In Mr. Mauskopf’s personal life he had served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of his synagogue for 10 years as well as it’s President and Financial Secretary. Mr. Mauskopf had also served successfully as an elected Ombudsman in the Town of Hempstead as well as serving on other charitable organization’s Board of Directors.
